Unfunded project for Scarlett Consulting
How do you create a guide for doctors from all over the world who are combatting the Ebola Crisis?
During the height of the Ebola crisis James Grant Design worked with Scarlett Consulting to support the brave medical professionals travelling to West Africa. The challenge was that medical professionals from all over the world were being asked to work together despite language barriers. The doctors were also facing extremely challenging conditions working in sites with zero or limited running water, electricity, and outside accessibility.
To solve these problems James Grant Design worked with a team of medical professionals led by Margaret Scarlett to outline a visual Ebola manual. This manual showed how to tackle common problems such as sanitising equipment and creating a quarantine zone using mostly images so doctors from all over the world could understand.
We also outlined a process for collecting video records of techniques doctors in the field were using to overcome barriers using mobile devices. These videos would be shared with our training staff and added to the orientation for new medical professionals entering the region to combat the disease.
Fortunately for the world, the Ebola crisis died down before this project could be fully implemented.
